Troubleshooting Methods for CNC Lathe Malfunctions
The quotation for CNC lathes is very reasonable. CNC lathes are short for digital program controlled lathes. They combine the characteristics of universal type lathes, high-precision type lathes, and high-efficiency type lathes. They are a widely used and widely covered type of CNC machine tool in China. Equipped with multi station turrets or power turrets, the machine tool has a wide range of machining performance, and can process complex workpieces such as straight cylinders, oblique cylinders, arcs, and various threads, grooves, and worms.
The appearance of a CNC lathe is similar to that of a regular lathe, consisting of a bed, spindle box, tool holder, feed system pressure system, cooling and lubrication system, and other parts. The feed system of CNC lathes has a qualitative difference from ordinary lathes. Traditional ordinary lathes have a feed box and an exchange gear frame, while CNC lathes directly use servo motors to drive the slide and tool holder through ball screws to achieve feed motion. Therefore, the structure of the feed system is greatly simplified.
There are significant similarities in the structure and process of machining objects between CNC lathes and ordinary lathes. Compared with ordinary lathes, CNC lathes have the following five characteristics:
1. Equipped with fully enclosed or semi enclosed protective devices: CNC lathes use enclosed protective devices to prevent chips or cutting fluid from flying out, causing accidental injury to operators.
2. Adopting an automatic chip removal device: Most CNC lathes adopt an inclined bed structure layout, which is convenient for chip removal and facilitates the use of an automatic chip removal machine.
3. High spindle speed, safe and reliable workpiece clamping: Most CNC lathes use hydraulic chucks, which make clamping force adjustment convenient and reliable, while also reducing the labor intensity of operators.
4. Automatic tool change: CNC lathes are equipped with automatic rotary tool holders, which can automatically change tools during the machining process and continuously complete multiple processing steps.
5. Separation of main drive and feed drive: The main drive and feed drive of the CNC lathe adopt independent servo motors, making the transmission chain simple and reliable. At the same time, each motor can move independently or achieve multi axis linkage.
The CNC lathe relies on a stepper motor to drive the ball screw drive. As the ball screw can have interference, the drive has no clearance, and the accuracy is mainly guaranteed by the machine itself and the program. During the machining process, it can be automatically measured and CNC vertical lathe can automatically compensate for tool wear and other errors caused by other reasons. So the processing quality is good and the accuracy is stable. Programming methods can also be used to turn parts with complex shapes that are difficult to machine with ordinary lathes. Suitable for parts with high precision, large batch size, and complex shapes. But small-scale production is also very useful. Its maintenance cost is higher than that of a regular lathe. CNC vertical lathe is mainly used for large parts, and its spindle is vertical. Vertical lathe also has CNC control. Due to the increasing shortage of high-tech talents, new companies are now adopting CNC technology to improve productivity and product quality, reduce scrap rates and costs.
A CNC lathe is a machine tool that integrates mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Each part of the execution function jointly completes various actions such as mechanical movement, rotation, clamping and loosening, speed change, and tool rotation. When the machine tool is working, its various functions are combined, and they are also mixed together when faults occur.
